5 out of 5 stars Just perfect   August 30, 2008
I bought this item for my vacations and it was nothing but perfect. I cannot believe the crisp vision, no fog, no UV radiation. Wish I had them 20 years ago when I used to compete. :)

5 out of 5 stars Great goggles   August 17, 2008

I have yet to actually use these in a pool but they seem much higher quality than other goggles I have used. I also have no dent in the bridge of my nose which makes finding a pair of goggles that fit extraordinarily hard but these pair actually fit!

2 out of 5 stars Good design, however poor Anti-Fog feature...   August 5, 2008

After I lost my beloved Speedo swim goggles (can't remember its model) I started looking for a new one. With the impression of those positive reviews, I bought a blue Vanquisher Plus.

Well, the antireflective mirrored layer works fine under sunshine and looks cool also. It has 3 separate nosepieces so that you can use the appropriate one to adjust the goggle on your face. However it's very hard to attach/detach them as the connections are too tight.

My biggest disappointment is its Anti-Fog feature that vanished after the second use! I wore them at the sea, not in the pool (so no chlorine) and without touching the inner layer I rinsed them with fresh water after each use. However nothing can be seen through the foggy glass now. What a pity... Well, I am not expecting Anti-Fog feature to last forever of course, but come on Speedo, it couldn't survive even a weekend!

2 out of 5 stars I expected more from Speedo...   July 13, 2008

I was impressed by all the positive reviews here at Amazon.com for these Speedo Vanquisher Plus swim goggles. I purchased the reflective gold type. When they arrived, I tried different sizes of nosepieces, which were difficult for me to change. I could not get a tight enough seal to keep the water out, no matter which nosepiece I tried. So I tightened the strap, but this made the goggles hurt.

I bought these to replace some TYR goggles (similar to these) that were lost. They had no separate nosepiece; the goggles and nose bridge were all one piece. They were the best goggles I ever had. They had a much wider field of visibility than these Speedo goggles (from what I could tell before the water started leaking). I think it's because the sealing gasket on these Speedo goggles is so small.

I am giving these goggles two stars because my wife seems to like them just fine, otherwise I myself would give them one star. She says it is because I have "deep-set" eyes. I didn't think I had that weird of a face, though.

I am just a recreational/lap swimmer, not competitive. Also, these "mirrored" goggles are like sunglasses. So when swimming laps indoors, you may find them too dark.
