 Here's a cheaper way to anchor your tent! September 16, 2008

For the beach: Use 3-4 plastic bags (Wal-Mart or similiar) inside one another, dig a hole next to each leg, put the bags in the holes and fill them with sand, cover them with sand leaving the handles of the bags above the sand, tie your guy lines to the handles and whallah.....anchors strong enough to withstand a hurricane! If you question how strong the bags are, triple up some Wal-Mart bags and just try to break the handles. Be sure and dig up your bags when you pack up so they don't get washed out to sea and harm the wildlife. You can do the same on concrete, just not buried of course.

Very nice product. With the bags, you don't have to lug weights around, plus they much heavier than weights when full. Attachment was easy, filling.. easy (make sure you bring a shovel), breakdown was easy too. Because of the heavy slick material, the sand shakes, and later, washes off with no problem.
Best of all, when the bags are full, the tent is going nowhere. It would rip apart from wind before it blew away.

We did not get a chance to use these at the show my wife was giving in the Cambridge area [...], but was able to utilize them just recently when we went to Cape Cod area to the beach and they held our umbrella down with all of the wind blowing like crazy.
The bags are worth the money and way cheaper than buying them directly from E-Z Up...

I was struggling keeping my tent in place during windy days at craft shows. These weights were exactly what I was looking for. Just fill them with sand, and you have an instant 40 extra pounds per tent pole. Only hard part is having to cart them back and forth each time you set up.
The seller was very quick to respond and send them to me....
