OK Playset October 1, 2008 This was a nice playset, however the tent poles were suppose to be connected, but were mostly broke.
Great product! July 6, 2008 Overall this product is great so far my 4yr old received as a birthday gift and loves it he is a CARS nut! The only complaint I have so far is that the tent stinks and should be aired out for at least 24 hoours before sleeping in it. The water bottle and compass have not been used yet but look pretty cheap in quality but what do you expect for a 5 piece package set, and for a 4 year old he does not care he is ready to go camping in his mind. Great price for what you get in pack.
mixed value June 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a total package, I do think this is a good buy. Mainly because the tent is really fun, decently made, and was a complete hit. The poles are a little fragile, though, so if you put 5 five-year-olds in it, rough housing, it's easily possible to break one (replaceable at a camping store). The sleeping bag is okay-- cold rated to 60 degrees, meaning that it's really for indoor use at sleepovers. The backpack and the drinking bottle are both complete crap and fell apart very quickly. However, overall, this is a fun thing to get for a Cars-fixated boy who wants to try out some very tame indoor camping.
You get what you pay for February 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This kit is comprised of a tent, sleeping bag, pillow, water bottle and backpack. The tent is holding up fairly well, although it's never been taken down once it was initially set up. It has been moved around a bit without ill effect.
As for the rest of the kit, it's complete junk. The backpack and water bottle didn't last a week before practically disintegrating, and the image (silk screened?) on the pillow is just about gone.
In the end, it's all cheaply made junk. If I were to do this again, I'd forgo the "Cars" branding and get my son excited about real, albeit low end, camping gear. It would cost more, but hey, you get what you pay for.
great product December 26, 2007 This tent set was a great find. Our sons received it for Christmas (ages 4 & 6). They have played in it all day and even slept in it overnight. It seems durable. My only complaint is that in the manufacturing of the sleeping bag, the print is backwards (i.e. "cars" reads "srac", etc.). Did anyone else have this problem? Other than that, I cannot complain. Great product.
