Excellent value for the money March 12, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've used a variety of multi-tools over the past decade and very few of the smaller variety are worth having. The knife blade is easy to sharpen and holds an edge well. As far as safety is concerned, when the blade is out and the handles properly closed together, you can't fold it up on your fingers. I've done that with a Leatherman Micra and while the injury was minor, it still took several stitches to close the wound and a better design would have prevented the accident. The pliers on the SOG really work and have proven quite durable. With the exception of the tweezers, every tool on this miniature "all-in-one" is excellent. The tweezers could certainly be better, but they do work and are no worse than those found on other multi-tools (Leatherman, etc.). If you need a pair of really good tweezers, your best bet is still the Swiss Army Knife by Victorinox. The SOG CrossGrip is solidly built and reasonably priced.
It's just OK August 14, 2003 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pros: 1) small enough to carry anywhere 2) strong gripping power 3) sturdy steel toolsCons: 1) painful when squeezing hard on the pliers 2) tweezers have poor gripping power Findings: I will stick with my Leatherman Squirt P4
