Product Description Country: Ireland #719210 Training Balls are made to last longer as they are used more than match balls. They also have a hydratec barrier in their construction, which helps to repel water and dirt which helps to maintain the quality and shape of the balls. Ireland's emerald green jersey is one of the most recognizable in the world. No true rugby fan's wardrobe is complete without it! Although England and Scotland played the first rugby union international match in 1871, Wales and Ireland joined the battle in the 1880s thus creating the prelude to the Six Nations tournament.

Pleasant Surprise July 19, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read the review by Ms. Shirley, and was a little hesitant to order this product. However, I am currently deployed to Iraq, and desperate to resume playing rugby, so I went ahead and ordered it ... basically took a gamble. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Amazon that the item hadn't been shipped, so I contacted the vendor via email. I was definitely a little irate, and expecting the worst. Within a very short time (< 12 hours), I was contacted by their customer service supervisor, who explained that, while they had shipped my order several days previously, they had not notified Amazon, not wishing to charge my payment until they were confident that I'd received the rugby ball. A few days later (about 14 days after the order shipped) it arrived in theater. I am very pleased with the Irish Rugby Union ball, the promptness and courtesy of World Rugby Shop's response, as well as the very competitive price. We've already given the ball a test run here in the sands of Iraq, and it's held up splendidly. Thanks World Rugby Shop.
