Useable, thats all April 24, 2007 It was the cheapest headlamp I could find. I knew it was not going to be anything special, and it wasn't. It has a terrible beam; yellow with lots of dark spots. It eats batteries too. I went through 2 sets of batts in an 8 hour shift. It was cracked before I even used it. Crack was on the side, next to the removable door to load the batteries. I have seen this headlamp sold under at least 4 names, including one model meant for kids. Same lamp, just had a bright colored head strap. You would be better off getting a decent quality led headlamp. I'm shopping for one myself.
Great product for hunting December 4, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
During the Pennsylvania Deer Season, I go into State Game lands in the wee hours of the morning. Navigating the woodsy area in the dark has become so much easier with this Headlamp! I put my bright orange ball cap on, and then place my Optronics Headlamp over it, and adjust the light. Even though it takes 2 AA batteries, it Not heavy or cumbersome. It's great, it leaves my hands free to handle my gear and keep the brush from hitting my face and also is great to see where I'm walking in order to prevent tripping over logs and exposed roots. Not to mention when rooting through my gear bag for other essential items it's much easier with both hands free and enough light to see by.

This head-lamp does not have an LED. It is an incandesant! Now I have to try to get my money back. DO NOT BUY!
