WARNING: don't buy this Dorcy model November 28, 2008
I've owned several Dorcy flashlights over the past few years. They are normally of fine quality BUT not this one! This flashlight was either damaged during production, packaging by Dorcy, or it simply breaks as easily as a raw egg.
The tailpiece (where you install batteries), is cheap thin plastic molded or glued onto metal. (photo shows little rubber triangles here). When I opened and removed the new flashlight from the package, this tailpiece was barely hanging on. As I examined it and touched it softly, it fell off in my hand. It's not supposed to come off and now this flashlight is permanently broken. No, you can't simply put it back on.
Needless to say, I couldn't test the flashlight because the broken tailpiece holds the batteries in place.
I will not be buying any more Dorcy products. Quality like this is unacceptable, especially at this premium price! If you decide to buy this anyway, I guarantee you'll have a short life and needless aggravation.
As usual, Amazon delivered quickly, packing was ample, and I never have headaches with this company.
