Amazon.com Product Description The dual-switch Smith & Wesson Galaxy 28 flashlight is designed with two separate on-off push buttons, providing a choice between a powerfully bright 20 White LED mode or two battery-efficient LED modes--4 red LED (for night vision) or 4 blue LED (for low light viewing)--without the confusion of a single switch mechanism. It features the latest MSAT switch technology which allows the white LEDs to operate on one switch while the color LED modes are activated on a separate switch. Ideal for aviation, outdoors, automotive, home, and professional use, the 20 LED mode provides a brilliant beam of white light perfect for general usage, while the 4 LED mode is ideal for conserving battery power and signaling and identifying targets at night without hampering night vision. It's constructed of precision-machined 6063 anodized aluminum for maximum resistance to corrosion and weather. The flashlight also includes 3 AAA batteries and a deluxe holster with a spare battery holder. It's backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Best in the world August 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
LED Flashlights have certainly come a long way since Cristobol Loomis first discovered the technology in Quetzalcoatl's tomb but the basic principles still remain the same and, for my money, they're still the best source of illumination to be found in the modern world. Overall I would probably give the 4 red LEDs three stars and the 20 white LEDs four stars, but when you factor in sixteen stars for the 4 blue LEDs that still comes out to a hair over twelve stars total so I can't in good conscience give this product one star less than five. The only real fault I can assign to it are mainly design choices...why is the second setting able to shine through everything else but not styrofoam, and why does shining the light from the third setting bring reptiles back to life but nothing else? Quibbles aside though, the flashlight is sturdy, capable of surviving a fall of up to 200 feet, and will also provide full visibility roughly 60 meters in every direction even at depths of up to one hundred fathoms. You really just can not go wrong with this flashlight.
Ahhh! My eyes!! August 21, 2008 Do not look into the light from this little guy!! Took it for a week-long canoeing/hiking/camping trip with six other guys. This light was far brighter than anyone elses. I loaded it up with the Energizer Lithium batteries and haven't changed them yet. The red and blue modes are bright too. In short, great flashlight, great price.
Great light August 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This light gives off a great amount of light for 3 AAA batteries although the beam is not very concentrated. I use the red light all the time for finding something in the tent without blinding yourself although I wish it didn't cycle through the blue lights as well (There are 2 switches - one switch turns the white lights off & on; the other switch cycles through RED > BLUE > OFF again.) The only other small complaint is that when you put the light in the case and snap the case shut it is easy to hit the button and turn the light back on. The light needs to be twisted so the case button doesn't align with the switch - not a big deal. The case also has a little pouch to store 3 additional AAA batteries - very handy.
Otherwise I highly recommend it as it is one of the best I've used - a tough, bright light for a reasonable price.
Powerful feeling flashlight June 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The flashlight has a solid feel, nice click to the buttons, and the battery has not warn out yet (I've had it for about 3 months with casual usage). The different colors are a nice touch, but one thing worth noting, you need to go through the colors, you can't pick them individually. One press gets blue, the next red, then off. So while white light can just be turned on and off, you can't just get to the red light, you need to go through blue first.
Good flashlight June 4, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
It is a good product but I still find useless the blue and red leds...
