Product Description Accompanied by a charging base, this rechargeable, heavy-duty 8.38-inch industrial/professional spotlight features a high-powered dual-filament xenon lamp. Two interchangeable reflectors consist of a modified spot (stippled for a wide beam) and a laser spot (smooth for a tightly collimated beam). A backup lamp providing an additional 30 hours of lamp life is stored behind the lens for emergencies. An adjustable folding stand allows the beam to be directed as needed. The spotlight's pistol grip/lantern handle can be quickly adjusted to various positions. A flip switch operates easily, even when thick gloves are worn, and works in two directions. The switch's locking slide prevents accidental activation. A lanyard on the end secures spotlight to wrist. Made of rugged ABS resin that resists chemicals, corrosion, and extreme temperatures, the spotlight has a thermoplastic shroud and an impact-resistant polycarbonate lens. A shock-absorbing battery module protects both batteries and lamp. The spotlight is powered by a battery pack (included) holding seven C NiCAD batteries. The battery pack can be recharged more than 500 times. Battery-pack burn time is two hours. A 110V transformer is included. Vehicle installation is also possible with 12V plug-in adapter (not included) or direct wiring (not included). With batteries, the spotlight weighs 3.19 pounds. About Pelican Products Dave Parker, president of Pelican Products, has been an avid scuba diver since age 11. During his early diving years, he repeatedly discovered that something he needed to make a dive complete was simply not available. It dawned on him that if he needed that piece of gear other divers did, too. In 1976, he began the company with his wife and co-founder Arline, an airline stewardess, while he continued his advertising and industrial-design business. From that inception as a small garage operation, Pelican has blossomed into an international marketing and manufacturing firm.
