It does take some serious work to make a blended drink with this, but it does work. You do need some sort of table or something to clamp it to. Blending it freehand will not work! My one complaint is the housing for the crank has already come loose, but I just popped it back in place and it still works. Over all, I have to say I'm very happy with it. I really wanted a battery powered blender originally, but from all the reviews I read, none of them seemed to work except the Black & Decker which got discontinued. This does work just fine and I have to say, nothing beats hiking back to some secluded lake, sitting on the shore and having a pina colada or strawberry daquiri!Cheers!
