You get what you pay for... October 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this rack but decided to return it. Here's why:
After installing it on my hitch, the whole things rattles and moves left and right while driving. It appears that securing it with the bolt that came with the package and attaching the rack to the hitch is where the problem lies. If you used a power tool and some other bolts to make the connection sturdy, then you won't be able to "install (and re-install) in 60 seconds" like the description says. I wasn't going to use this permanently on the car, only when I actually have the bike with me. This rack won't work in that scenario, since you will not be able to get it easily off to stow in the trunk when not in use, or alternatively you just won't be able to actually get this to attach safely to your car. Even a strap on carrier worked better than this!
I'm going to shop for something different, even if it's going to be a bit more expensive, something that has a different attachment mechanism to the hitch itself. I guess, you get what you pay for...
