I have ordered 4 of the Fox 40 whistles w/mouth guard. It really helps as it is easier to hold in your mouth and keeps you from bitting down on the standard whistle plastic mouth piece. When you blow a whistle 200-300 times in a match it is a lip saver.

I can't belive how loud this whistle is. As a football referee, I am contantly in need of a whistle that will be loud and dependable. The Fox40 does just that!

I am a physical education teacher so a whistle can be my best friend when the need arises. This whistle is not only loud but the sounds emitted from it are controllable. Since the whistle is high pitched, even a small bit of air pushed through the mouth piece can be enough to grab the attention of my students. On the other hand when emergency scenerios come up a full blow on this whistle will stop everyone in their tracks. I would definitely recommend this whistle. Although, I didn't like paying 7 dollars for the whistle, I followed the reviews on this page and bought it anyway. I still thought after buying it that I was foolish to have spent close to 10 bucks including shipping on a whistle, but I realized after I received it, my money was well spent, and I will never purchase any other whistle then this one in the future. It is worth the extra money!
Loud whistle January 17, 2008
As a basketball official this is the recommended whistle. It's load and everyone knows when a foul or violation has occurred. The cushion is great when your working multiple games to relieve the pressure on your front teeth.

I also have this on my keychain wherever I go (be sure to wash it regularly if you do this).
First time I blew it, I temporarily lost about half my hearing. So now I try to only use it in non-emergency situations when I have ear plugs or muffs on.
