| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Built for all-terrain performance in challenging winter conditions, Tubbs Couloir Women's snowshoes are ready-made for winter adventure. Cutting-edge bindings and high performance materials make Couloir Women's snowshoes comfortable to wear and durable against the wear and tear of backcountry adventure. Tubbs was the first manufacturer to offer snowshoes designed specifically for women, introducing women's specific bindings in 1998. Anatomic and ergonomic adjustments are made to each binding to provide the female snowshoe enthusiast with the fit, comfort and performance she deserves. Accounting for the fact that, on average, women have a shorter walking stride than men, Tubbs has tapered the tail on women's specific models to be 15% narrower than the tails found on men's snowshoes, allowing the user to maintain a more natural stride. Couloir Women's snowshoes are available in three sizes. Measuring 8" x 21" each, Couloir Women's-21snowshoes are suitable for a total weight (user and gear) of 80-150 pounds. At 8" x 25" per shoe, Couloir Women's-25 snowshoes are suitable for a total weight of 120-200 pounds and Couloir Women's-30 snowshoes (9" x 30" per shoe) are suitable for a total weight of 170-250 pounds. Comfort and maneuverability are key elements of backcountry performance and Tubbs tackles both concerns with the design of the bindings used in their snowshoes. Couloir Women's snowshoes utilize the innovative Revolution Response II (RII) binding. This binding provides shock-absorbing lateral flex, ensuring that your foot remains in a natural position even when you tackle side slope traverses. This design also maximizes crampon penetration in the snow base, ensuring efficient control and balance. The rotation also enables the tail of the Couloir Women's snowshoes to drop away from the binding as you hike, effectively shedding snow, reducing resistance and minimizing the fatigue associated with carrying the unnecessary weight of clinging snow.
