Built to last for generations and featuring a pivoting front section that allows slalom turns, 180-degree turns, and hockey stops, this heirloom-style hand-crafted sled is made of elegant, highly figured maple. Each sled is signed and numbered by the sledmaker. For strength and long-life, runners are extra-thick powder-coated steel, as are the "knees"--bent parts connecting runners to top. Bolts are stainless steel for durability. Three coats of marine-grade finish protect the wood against elements. Suitable for a child aged 3 years and up and sturdy enough to support 300 pounds, the sled measures 52 inches long x 24 inches wide x 5 inches high and weighs 16 pounds. It meets all USC and ASTM child-safety standards and carries a 1-year warranty against defects. Assembly (instructions included) is easy. Product Description
For many people, this is the perfect sled - a metal runner sled, built by hand by a Colorado sledmaker. The sled is ideal on a wall, and even better on a good steep hill. Tiger maple planks, joined with solid tongue-and-groove joints, form the body of the sled. Stainless steel hardware is used throughout, and the powder-coated metal runners have extra-strong "knees" (the bent-metal parts that connect the runners to the sled). The patent-pending double-pivot design gives fabulous turning power, even on slick ice. Hand-made in limited quantities; each is signed and numbered by the sledmaker. Meets all USC and ASTM child safety requirements; marine-grade finish. Holds up to 300 pounds.
