Ideally, it is best to clean your bearings and then relubrcate, but if you want a little extra speed and performance a tiny bit of speed gel alone will do the trick. Just a tiny dab of speed gel makes a super-thin coating over the bearings and minimizes friction. If you bearings are noisy, it is sometimes caused by dirt and grit getting inside, but it can also be simply that all the heat and movement have burned off the lubricants that are supposed to be inside the bearings. All that metal on metal contact causes excess friction and can harm the bearings making the performance worse and worse each time you skate. Whether you skate for exercise, speed, play hockey hockey or skate street or park, more speed is just plain better and this is the easiest way to get it.
