Product Description 20 vents keep your HEAD cool with a style that keeps YOU cool. In-Mold construction with Internal Reinforcement provides lightweight durability and protection. The GPS Fit System with Cam-Lock levers keeps the helmet secure while remaining incredibly comfortable.
Product Description The Bell Sweep R Racing Bike Helmet is constructed with a fusion in-mold microshell, which utilizes the process of bonding the helmet's microshell to its EPS foam layer, rather than forming the two separately and taping them together later, to provide a sturdier, more solid helmet. This helmet also utilizes an in-mold bottom for durability by bonding microshell material to the lower half of the helmet. The Sweep R features Bell's GPS (Geared Positioning System) fitting method to deliver an easy one-hand adjustment for the maximum in fit and comfort. The Bell Sweep R also features internal reinforcement through a composite skeleton that fortifies the helmet in the same way rebar makes concrete stronger, and cam-lock levers that make it easy to adjust the straps around your ears. For your comfort, this bicycle helmet includes 20 channeled vents that are specially designed to force cool, fresh air in through the front and around your head, while flushing warm air out of the rear ports. Bell's Sweep R helmet comes in three sizes, weighs 280 grams, and complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets. Helmet Tips--You Should Always... - Wear a helmet when you ride
- Wear your helmet low in the front to protect the forehead
- Fasten your buckle and tighten your chin strap
- Check your adjustments every time you wear your helmet
- Inspect your helmet regularly for signs of wear or damage
- Wear a helmet designed for your activity

Can't go wrong December 16, 2008 I love this helmet. I use it on road rides and mtn rides. Great ventalation keeps my cool during long hot rides. The helmet fits great and I dont even notice its there. Its a very tough helmet.....it has taken a beating a few times during some hard crashes on the mtn bike and absorbed the shock from the blow to my head and examining my helmet I couldnt even tell anything happened other than a minor scratch of the paint. I love this helmet so much I bought it in a different color.
A helmet with ventilation! September 30, 2008 I ALWAYS overheated with 70s-vintage helmets (up to that last time I got hit by a car) and was reluctant to wear a brain bucket as they really killed my enjoyment of riding.
I don't fantasize about the Tour de France any more, but I DO take notice of the helmets they wear.
Biking to work meant getting back on the bike after a 30-year hiatus. I decided that the "extra" bucks to protect the ol' maraca was a worthy investment, so I checked the range of helmets available without price as an object. I selected the Bell Sweep R as a compromise between cost - it's easy to spend a LOT more - and ventilation performance, and have been most happy.
It fits my head well (I'm a big boy, and I wear a BIG hat) and the ventilation works extremely well. That up-turned back end (a DA in 50s-speak) is key to creating vacuum to pull air through the hat, and it works great.
One complaint - I REALLY wish the straps were about 2" longer. I'm almost at the end of it, and it still pinches a bit when I turn to see what's creeping up on me.

Since I have a big head, I ordered a large size, which was too big. I needed a medium. Returning the helmit was easy but I was upset that I had to pay for shipping. Refund was quick
Great Road Bike Helmet October 21, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A great helmet that is on par with more expensive gear, such as, Giro Atmos. In-mold construction is lightweight yet durable for protection. Cam-lock levers maintains a secure fit while providing comfort. Nice styling with 20 vents for efficient cooling.

This is unquestionably the best helmet I have ever owned. It is comfortable, cool , and the fit can be made perfect. I have a very small head, and I appreciate the offering of a size S. The adjustment in the rear makes it so easy to get the perfect fit.
