Product Description
With a rugged, classic design the Giro Atlas II Sport Bike Helmetis built for riders who want a comfortable, secure fit in a larger-than-average size. This sport-bike helmet is constructed with in-mold technology that fuses a tough outer microshell to the helmet's EPS foam liner. The fusion process reinforces areas around vents and ribs, making the helmet lighter, cooler and tougher.

The Atlas II utilizes Giro's Acu Dial system, which combines single-handed adjustment with a full-fit band for a quick, sure fit. This Giro helmet features a snap-fit visor, and 18 vents that allow cool, fresh air in and stale, warm air out. The Atlas II sport helmet comes in Giro's Universal Fit XL UL size (57-64cm), carefully sculpted and size-specific to simplify the fitting process. Giro's Atlas II helmet is a lightweight 330 grams, and complies with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets.

  • Wear your helmet low in the front to protect the forehead
  • Fasten your buckle and tighten your chin strap
  • Check your adjustments every time you wear your helmet
  • Inspect your helmet regularly for signs of wear or damage
  • Wear a helmet designed for your activity

About Giro
Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a helmet that was better looking than traditional designs while offering a superior fit and still met the industry's toughest safety standards. Plus, it was half the weight of traditional helmets. Since then, Giro has advanced its helmets, many of which have set the standards for styling, function, and innovation for progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Young-bloods and old-timers; hard-cores, heshers, and hipsters; rookies, experts, and a few regular Joes too--in fact, pretty musch anyone that appreciates superior fit and function, cutting edge styling, and the very best ideas you get in a helmet.

5 out of 5 stars Good helmet for a big head   November 14, 2008
This helmet is big enough for my giant head which is a plus. It is comfortable. The ventilation is good, although I have yet to ride in temperatures above 70 degrees. I do not have anything bad to say about this product. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. I would recommend this to anyone with a large head, who wants a helmet that fits.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent helmet...   October 6, 2008
I have this in white. I was looking for a helmet that was safe, fitted well and wasn't too expensive. I looked at the Giro Indicator (It didn't fit my head), then I saw this. After a few rides I can say this fits well, is comfortable to wear for extended periods and keeps the head cool. It's an excellent helmet.

4 out of 5 stars Good buy   September 18, 2008
Giro Skyla Sport Bike Helmet This helmet was as advertised. I needed the extra large size, and it fit fine.

5 out of 5 stars Giro Atlas II Helmet   September 6, 2008
The helmet is great! I actually had this thing on order from a local bike shop and had waited over 4 weeks for their shipment to come in, finally I ordered it from Amazon and had it in 3 days. I should have done that sooner. It was just a couple of bucks more because of shipping, but I had been riding without one every weekend and was very happy to finally have my helmet when I was riding down those hills a high speeds - definately a good buy.

5 out of 5 stars good LARGE helmet for big melons   August 1, 2008

a helmet is a helmet, be at $200+ Giro Ionos, or $35 Giro Atlas II, they protect your head the same. They all have to pass USA helmet safety certification, to be sold in the country. However, for the unfortunate ones with large melon above their neck, This is your only answer(other brand also makes XL helmets). Very comfortable, just like my old Giro Ventoux used from 1994 to 2008.
