5 out of 5 stars Waaaaay up there   September 29, 2008
this is THE best paintball gun i've ever used, its pretty much a 98 but much more better looking. but this is not a speedball gun, do not ever use it 4 speedball, the gun is fat and heavy, but not as heavy as other people says it is. to get the best out of this gun, i suggest get a nicer barrel for it, the 11'' barrel it comes with is not bad, but it's not good either. and if you have extra $$, get a cyclone feed and an air hose.
i dont personally think that the e-trigger is very useful, but if u are stinkin rich, it's really good. a lot of this gun is about the looks, and for the same price as the custom 98, you actually get more. the only weakness is that cleaning the gun is a chore, you have to do it every time you use it, and when you open it up, u'll b suprised on how many parts it has, and u have 2 clean and oil EVERY SINGLE ONE of then every time you use it. over all, this is THE best gun i've ever used. and at only $130, go get it.

5 out of 5 stars Great Marker... The best Bang for the Buck !   July 11, 2008

This is one the best scenarios markers around.... You will be pleased with the quality of it.
It's quite heavy and will give a true felling of the the real gun... Therefore, I would advise to get a Sling in order to attach to the vest...

The Alpha Black is mainly a Tippmann 98 already customized right our of the box.
All the internals are the same as well... If you need to replace anything...

One of the best things you can add to this marker is a cyclone... In order to this.. you have to get the 98 Custom Cyclone.. File down the border (since it's the only difference from the 98 to the AB, which does not allow the connector of the cyclone to match right out of the box...
With the cyclone the weapon really comes alive...

There are plenty of websites that teaches you how to do this.. Just look over at Google and you will find... You don't even need to replace the internals since they are Cyclone ready..

For the money, this is definatelly the one of the best markers for paintball scenario/woodsball around here...

The effectives of the shot is also pretty good. It has a good range for the 11" barrel as well...
and another hint... Take a Remote line to get the tank out of the marker, this will make the feel of the marker even more realistic...

I am very satisfied with the quality, versatility and price for this one...
You will fall in love this paintball marker..

5 out of 5 stars Amazing   June 3, 2008

Okay, welcome to my review of the Tippmann/US. Army paintball marker called the Alpha Black (Tactical Edition).

Essentially, when you strip down the Alpha Black Tactical, it is pretty much a Paintball Tippmann X7 Tippman X-7 Scenario Marker NEW!. So you may be asking, "Sean, is that a good thing?" and my answer is yes. This gun shoots about 90% accurate thanks to its default 11" barrel (which is bigger than the Tippmann A-5 barrel, but not as big as other after market barrels), an actual "iron sights" aiming sight, a barrel shroud, it also has a very nice carry handle which also serves as an additionally aiming sight, a collapsible stock so you may shoulder your weapon like a real life assault rifle, and a removable magazine for your tools such as your alan keys and squeege. Ontop of all this, since I've been using the weapon I have not had a single ball chop or jam inside the barrel. Finally, it has an overall M-16 look to it which automatically makes this gun cool haha.

So what are the cons? Well for starters, it doesn't have a cyclone feed like the A-5 but rather an old style gravity feed system located on the upper right side of the gun. With that in mind, it does not come with a hopper so you have to spend another like $5-$10 out of your pocket. On top of that, its a fairly big gun and weighs a bit so it slows you down in the field. Since it has a shroud on it, if a ball DOES break in your barrel you need to undo the shroud to clean your barrel. General cleaning of this gun is a pain in the...well, you know, so try to find a place that does free cleaning / repairs for it. Also, it may be right in front of my face, but I can not find the velocity crank for this weapon.. so yeah.

Overall though, I love my Alpha Black Tactical and its really cheap in price so its an affordable "high end" gun. I have had no serious problems with it, and so far it seems pretty reliable even with its cons. I highly suggest you buy this paintball marker.
