Very High Quality November 16, 2008 As long as you have a good place to put this thing, you won't be disappointed. It is very solid and easily supports my 200 pound weight.
Don't waste your time with one of those other, flimsy chin-up bars. This is the real deal.
rock solid November 11, 2008 I've never seen this product in stores but it was exactly what I needed. The chinup bars inside the door frame are unstable but this bar is solid and out of the way. Shipment was quick too.
Great product May 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This chin-up bar is a very sturdy built bar. The bolts they provide definetly do their job so i suggest using them. Your wall will break before this bar will the way they recommend that you set it up. The only "problem" i have is with the grips which is a standard type grip you'd find on any weightlifting bar. I solved this by just wrapping a towel around the bar whenever i use it or wear gloves but some may like it. I'm a mechanic and my hands get pretty messed up everyday so that's the reason why for me personally it hurts. I weigh around 225 lbs and this bar handles my weight with no problem just as long as you follow the instructions you'll be fine.
Excellent bar, super strong, and super strong mounting March 9, 2008 This bar is excellent. Nicely finshed and very fair price. Delivery was very fast. Some people may not like the lack of a padded bar, but I prefer the knurled grip. Padding eventually seems to always tear off....etc. You can add padding to this bar if you wish. This bar's strongest point ( no pun intended) is it is heavily made and the mountng is into the framing header (solid wood) that should be in the wall immediately above any door in the house. I'm 200 plus lbs. and with the supplied lag screws driven into the wall and header there is no movement in this bar even if I bounce a bit. It also does not screw into to or brace against your expensive decorative door casings or jambs a big plus for me. As for the use of the bar. It's up to you, do negatives if you can't do the proper pull up or chin ups in good form to begin with. There are no better exercises for development of,"true strength", of the back, shoulders and biceps as well as development of strength of other so called collateral muscles involved in these exercises. These exercises in general will develop ,"useful strength".
Pull up bar February 13, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This pull up bar is excellent, right size, very strong The mounting holes however are not evenly spaced apart for mounting above a door if studs are 16" on center. If you can mount on an open beam, then great
