3 out of 5 stars Phlat ball review   May 12, 2007

My son really liked the ball, and still has fun with it because he enjoys the surprise factor of the pop-up changing shape. But two little disks that hold the "phlat" shape together on the outside came off within weeks of purchase, so I can't rate it very highly for durability. He still enjoys it since it can hold the flat shape for a couple of seconds, but hey -- it should have lasted longer than that.

5 out of 5 stars Love it - but you have to read the directions   March 14, 2007

This is a great toy! Yes, it's made of a harder material but you're not supposed to throw it AT someone! This might be hard for some smaller kids but anyone over 7 should have no trouble. We play this indoors (like hot potato) and outdoors. It takes some warming up to make it round out after being stuck in the package a bit. There were directions taped to the inside of the package that we missed the first time. My 9 year old and his friends love getting several together to play games with. I would definately recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars I had sooo much fun addictive   January 24, 2007

I went to visit a friend and her son had one. It was so much fun that I went home and ordered 3. 2 as gifts and 1 to keep. My 10 year old nephew came over and he loved it so much that I gave it to him. I'm going to order more. The directions say that the longer you play with it the better it gets and that is the truth. Great toy to keep around for visitors with children. As far as the suction cups getting dirty, ewwww toys should be kept clean.

1 out of 5 stars Worthless   January 6, 2007

It is made of hard plastic that is not fun to catch - most people
dive out of the way when it comes in! Also, it rarely opens up into
a ball. When it does open up, it is just a bigger piece of hard plastic
(with fairly sharp edges) coming at at your head.

4 out of 5 stars Boys 9+ LOVE this   September 16, 2006

I bought this as a prize gift for my son's 9th birthday. As the boys were running around outside after the party, the phlat ball got opened. They threw it up onto the roof of the house and took turns scrambling to catch it rolling off the roof. They stood transfixed waiting for it to pop open into a ball and roll down. They loved this thing.
It did get dirty at one point - the suction cups were not working. I simply washed them off in the sink & they were back to playing again.
It kept them occupied for about an hour which is pretty good in my book. It was the envy of all the other boys who wished they had gotten this prize.
