Just push it on the end to collapse. Very easy to do. Dont worry about being shocked should the attacker be touching you. Won't happen! The current will not pass to you. Received mine in the mail only about 4 days after I oredered it but the siren and flashlight don't work. It's also bulkier than I expected. I was hoping this would be similar in size to a tactical baton but it's not.
